On Righteous Anger

On Righteous Anger began as a series of writing exercises which became about climate anxiety and the overwhelming feeling that environmental crises bring on.

As I continued writing and making, I realised that beneath the anxiety was anger. A frustration in witnessing injustice and feeling powerless to change it. I explored what happens when anger is acknowledged not suppressed, and how it might become a catalyst for action instead of paralysis.

The research behind this work draws from writers and artists whose voices have historically been marginalised. I became interested in whose anger is recognised as legitimate, whose is dismissed, and how systems of power shape who is allowed to express outrage. These questions felt urgent within conversations around climate justice, where the communities most affected by environmental harm are often those with the least political and economic power.

On Righteous Anger is an ongoing body of work, and I continue to distribute the zines as a way of sharing these reflections.
